Johnny Cupcakes: Webisode 5

Categories: Style

Johnny of Johnny Cupcakes was holding back this gem of a video with Gym Class Heroes, Travis McCoy, talking about his friendship and joint rise of GCH music and the Cupcakes brand over the last few years.

The End

Categories: Etc.

The End is the universal phrase that pretty much means, “don’t expect anything after this”. It’s how most of the film classics ended in the old days before we apparently got to hip to use, “The End” to finish off a good story. But thanks to Flickr and someone named Dill Pixel who has a passion for the, The End, as I do you now have a gallery of, The End, pictures ready for your eye gawking.

Time Lapse

Categories: Photography

Ever wonder what you look like older, I have, it’s like we take pictures to remember the past but we can’t take any to get a glimpse of the future, not exactly a fair trade in my opinion. But apparently Vogue Paris wasn’t willing to wait to see a 20 year old model age over the next 40 years so they went ahead and fast forwarded things a little on their own. They took the 20 yr old model and took pictures of her at the age of 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 all by using make-up and lighting not as cool as a time machine or a back to the future car like I was thinking, but they did a good job none the less. Take a look for yourself.

Forgotten City

Categories: Architecture, Etc.

Unearthing a city sounds like something from a movie, like finding them bringing up the city of Atlantis from the depths of the sea. Well, Bulgaria must have seen one too many movies because they decided to give it an actual go. Found at the bottom of a lake in 1948, the so called Forgotten City, now known as the city of Seuthopolis may be given new life. The concept/idea/plan/dream/hope it fucking works is that local authorities and Tilev Architects want to make a dike that’s 460 yards around and 20 yards deep (below the water), now I have no clue what a “dike” is but from what it sounds like and the concept pics it would be like an inverted island, with the city being at the bottom of the water instead of sitting on top.

New President-elect

Categories: Etc.

Much has been said in anticipation of this moment and much more will be said today and further on so I’ll keep it short and sweet. Congratulations Barack Hussein Obama II for becoming the 44th President in US history, for becoming the FIRST black President in history, for becoming an historic figure, for bringing change and showing we as a nation have changed, and thanks for bringing new meaning the phrase, “You can be whatever you want to be”. Thanks and congratulations. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

New Generation

Categories: Etc.

A new generation has come, and is prime for taking over. The generation molded us and made our decisions before and we had to live with those and now in some cases were going to have to solve issues made by some of those decisions, but it’s on us and our generation is better and more diverse then any other generation in history. Will we leave our mark, we sure the fuck will, what will our mark be, who the fuck knows, but one thing I’m for sure on it will be some changes made over the next decade and some, some very ground breaking changes made, all helmed by this, our, new generation.

Nagi Noda Hair Hats

Categories: Etc.

Nagi Noda can make your hair a hat, really. She created animal inspired head pieces using the persons own hair. How corny would it be for me to say, lions, tigers, and bears oh my. Making your hair into a dog, or cow, or elephant isn’t exactly a costume but I bet if you could make it look as good and real as Nagi Noda does you could still win the best costume at tonight’s halloween party.

Another: Don’t Vote

Categories: Etc.

This is another don’t vote video campaign, and I like this one just as much as the last one maybe even more. It is directed by Steven “blockbuster movie making” Spielberg and stars my favorites Will Smith and Shia Labeouf.

Won Park: Money Man

Categories: Art, Etc.

I like money like the most of us, but I don’t do anything with it but just spend it like most people do. And when it comes to dollar bills the only way I know how to get creative with it, is too toss it at a strippers, to put it in a vending machine, or hit McDonalds dollar menu up. But Won Park is much more creative than me and has a lot more time on his hands, he’s folded dollar bills to be just about anything you can imagine. Star wars spaceships, animals, cameras, Fred Flintstone, ok not Fred but that would have been cool.

Sarah’s Smash Shack

Categories: Etc.

I hate when I get so mad I end up breaking my own shit because it was the closest thing to me too throw. Now all you have to do is hold onto that feeling just a little longer and head on over to Sarah’s Smash Shack (say that 3 times fast), but sorry the Smash Shack is only located in San Diego, sorry none San Diegoians. The smash shack is probably the best stress reliever after sex it lets customers buy things such as plates, bottles, or cups to smash in the smash shack room. You’re also able to bring your own objects to smash upon approval. If you live in San Diego and the next time you get mad or want to kick your boss in the ass and say fuck off, hold onto that feeling, take an early lunch head over to sarah’s smash shack and break some shit up. Then you’ll feel like a stress free new person.

WILD FRONTIER of SPORTS

Categories: Etc.

I bring you another Good magazine production this time in conjunction with Saucony originals. Good is bringing you Wild Frontier of Sports, a 6 part short video series about the sport world you don’t know about, the one without all the glitz and glammer, and millions of dollars. WFS shows how each and everyone of us strives in our own ways to be athletes, no matter in what or doing what, we still try. Chasing hogs, dodging balls, and building a soap box car is just the beginning, so grab a beer, do a few stretches and other 5 videos of the series after the jump.
