FASHIONATION

Categories: Photography, Publications, Style

I love fashion magazines, all types of fashion magazines, and one reason I look forward to opening a fashion mag is to look through its fashion spreads. The photography work in those magazines is just simply amazing and eye engaging (you like that one didn’t you?). Now if you head over to FASHIONATION the sister site of The Cool Hunter, you will be able to see spreads from various fashion magazines, from all over the world.

Chris Bevans

Categories: Interviews, Style

Tailor made (no not the dude who won I love new york) it’s what Christopher Bevans does, well he also has a knack for sportswear as well. Bevans, 34, who is a part timer between New York and Portland divides his Christopher Bevans line up makin tailored suits and sportswear but also mixing the style structures to help him design his sportswear line. His line is a great example of the word “dapper”, it’s also like Target in a way, in the fact that it carries everything you need, Bevans can get you dressed head to toe, for any occasion. Even fly fishing, well that’s if you want to look fresh in a lake with knee-high water boots.

Barking Irons

Categories: Interviews, Style

When you think of classic clothing most often than not you think of vintage, it’s rare a company just a few years old could have an essence of classic about them. But then you have Barking Irons proving that even though it may be rare it isn’t impossible. They’re play on the 19th century New York isn’t just for show, or some theme or gimmick for a season, it’s the aesthetic they live by and the history they are trying to bring back to us in a modern world. The image they invoke is of a classic modern style, being able to give a t-shirt a real touch of the past without loosing it’s balance between both eras. Everything from the fabrics, to the graphics, to the spoon inspired jewelry all work together to bring this essence of old into new, it makes you think that this is what a man from the 19th century would wear today if he was transported in time to now.

Yoko Devereaux

Categories: Interviews, Style

His name is Andy Salzer, and Yoko Devereaux could have been a name in another lifetime for him, but as of now it’s the name of his menswear label. Sitting right in the midst of a blurred mix or more like mess of a fashion industry, Andy has given men something to actually look forward to wearing, with the proud-ness that comes with knowing you look good and different. Andy has added a little lime twist in his cocktail of menswear, he didn’t want to create what many others were and still are trying to create, he stepped into a lane of his own, finding that community of men who needed what he decided he would provide. New designs for a new generation of men is what Yoko Devereaux is, plus if you don’t really know how to say it, you know it’s cool, want to take a stab at Porsche.

Rip-Off & Duplicate

Omar Quiambao is the man behind the growing and very popular Commonwealth boutiques. A designer for 10 years before heading into the world of retail ownership, Omar has just jumped back to his roots and has created his own fashion label, Rip Off & Duplicate. Being the decision maker for his label Omar has made it a point to create pieces he likes and not worrying about trends or what the masses like, he has definitely thrown a monkey wrench into the game with his debut collection. And before you begin to think this is just another store trying to create their own label, let me stop you, for one it’s not at all connected to Commonwealth. Another thing before you judge thinking R&D is just another ugly pointless label, take a look below and see for yourslf if Omar hasn’t brung sexy back, well maybe not sexy but he sure as hell brought fashion back.

Soy Clothing

Categories: Style

maybe its the name or the designs but something about Soy Clothing grabbed my attention, and no I’m not a soy fan. Based in Seattle. WA the brand is a pretty new but the normal ugly designs that seem to be coming out of everywhere has skipped passed Soy. I just like how they ddin’t think using stupid silly sayings and pictures make a good design.

Triko spring “07″

Categories: Style

Triko has been doing very clean and dope designs for some years now so I’m glad to say their spring 07 is out and can be seen on their website. And in Triko fashion they have a very nicely built hoodie called “Tejido” which was hand woven by peruvian artistans using quechua patterns and colors. I love how Triko blends design with other cultures to make their clothing.

REPUBLIC UNION LAUNCHED!!

My boy Dano. S aka Street0404 Connoisseur had went in hiding or something, for awhile. But he has made his comeback and a strong one at that, he’s been working for months now getting his line REPUBLIC UNION ready, and being the artist he is, you can be for sure it’s gonna be some dope shit. It’s “The United Creative Movement” and I’m always a strong supporter of creativity.

Jhung Yuro

Categories: Interviews, Style

When I was 3 years old, I was a pretty smooth dude, well atleast that’s how I would like to think of me at 3. But I couldn’t really say I had already established a global presence and I definitely wasn’t luxurious, well if you count rocking some osh kosh’s and Gap kids as luxury then maybe so. Well, I wasn’t able to claim any of that when I was 3 but Jhung Yuro can. After being around for only 3 young years Jhung Yuro has already grown to be known as a luxury shoe for the luxury lifestyle. Now I’m going to let 31 year old Jhung Yuro explain the brand, because who better else to talk about Jhung Yuro then the man who is branding his name as a lifestyle.
