First I bring you jewelry inspired by animals and now I bring you a jewelry line based around the social symbols of death, mourning and divorce. Gisele Ganne showed her line at the Royal College of Art show in June and amongst the pieces she displayed were divorce rings to symbolize the ending of a marriage. Gisele’s jewerly is very detailed, beautiful, and conceptual having a storyline or meaning behind almost every piece, She talks about her line in detail here.

The jewelry game is filled with big diamonds and sparkly things it seems to have no character at all sometimes. Digby & Iona is exactly the opposite it’s full of character animal character to be exact. The line has an animal and nature focus bringing light to two separate subjects and making something beautiful out of combining the two. Putting the beauty and wonder that is wild life with the beauty that can be fine metals then you can get things like gold deer heads mounted on a ring or leaf designed earrings. If you’re into expressing your individuality and creativity through such means as clothing then Digby & Iona is your benchmark.

Jonathan Anderson used to catch insects and keep them in jars when he was just a little tike running around his garden. Now all grown up he decided to take a childhood hobby and make a career out of it. Anderson still captures insects like he did as a child but instead of putting them in jars he makes jewelry out of them. Having the insect frozen in time creates the illusion that if you just cracked them out of there glass holding they would just fly off or crawl away.
