Sexdrive movie trailer: more trailers after the jump…….
It’s amazing to see artists work grow into different realms and see how they can manipulate that field different from their usual canvas perspective. This is the trailer for artist Alex Pardee’s upcoming movie with Warner Bros, Chadam. It’s amazing to see how someone could take an idea bring it to form on paper and then turn around and bring it to life in a 3 dimensional setting like film/animation. From canvas to film the art world is definitely trying to play on more playgrounds.

If you’re in NY today hit up Monkey Town in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for the screening of the new Daft Punk dvd “Electroma”, an 80 minute film about robots in which two of the robots are trying to become human. The film was written and directed by the Daft Punk duo Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter who left the music and soundtrack for this film up to others, opting out of putting any of their Daft Punk songs in the film. If you make it out to the screening you’ll be able to get the dvd and a 40 page book that accompanies it for $15. After a decade in the game Daft Punk is still leading the way in their own way, creating what is always innovative. A few more videos of the film after the jump….
Oliver Stone is going to try and explain how George W. Bush became George W. Bush. Will I see the movie? Will I not see the movie? That’ll all be resolved the closer it comes to the films release, but being that I did do this…. my guess is that I’m more than likely going to see the transition from an apparent drunk to a white house resident dubly titled the president, but more importantly were is the film about the Bush and Kennedy families.
I didn’t read the graphic novel, but I am looking forward to this movie, this is how you make a trailer. And it’s directed by Zack Snyder the same director of 300. You can visit the official website here.

As mentioned earlier I was going to talk about the last season or more like 9 episodes of the Sopranos that just started up last Sunday. Last season which ended early was not the best the Sopranos could have been, I was very much unhappy with most of the storylines and how the show just ended so abruptly but the first episode of these last 9 shows has already got me thinking the Sopranos just might go out with a bang. I hope the writer’s gave Anthony so balls this time down the road, and I want to see how stable or unstable Chris gets, and we all know Paulie is sneaky as hell so he is definitely someone too look out for. And we can’t forget about the woman of the show Meadow and Carmela, who I hope have big roles to play this season, specially since I think Meadow is sexy as shit. But the most important piece in this seasons Soprano puzzle is Tony, will he be the new calmer and more mindful Tony who has change for the better to say after being shot, or will he slip back into being out of control, loose canon Tony from before, who off just a whim would slap you or disrespect you for just smiling at a joke he didn’t think was funny. In any case I have much faith in David Chase the creator of the Sopranos and the writers who have made a classic out of a show that wasn’t even supposed to be green lighted for a season.
I always have these ideas I know are good but don’t ever have the means or connections to see them realized, the phrase “its not what you know but who you know” is all so painfully true, and this TV show idea I had in my head for almost 2 years now has been, you guessed it already implemented, and recently to. Which is always the worst because it just lets me know if I knew the right people I would be the one running the show, but oh well just another good idea down the drain. The company who was smart enough to think like me was PLUM TV, whom I just read about in Details’ new issue about the 2007 Mevericks who will be making impacts and changes to industries. Plum TV was started by Tom Scott one of the partners of Nantucket Necktars who sold their company for $70 million, has taken plum to vacation spots for his viewer ship and is already in locations such as the Hamptons, Aspen, and Miami Beach. The show that Plum TV has that I wanted to create is called “Open Exchange” which has host Jonathan Tisch speak with titans of industries like Trump, Zuckerman, Clive Davis, Steve Ross, and many others who have been the heads of industries for years. My show was the exact same premise to interview the major players in a comfortable atmosphere like their home, but Plum beat me to it, and from the looks of what I saw they will be continuing to grow in the future with more good shows. Now if someone knows anybody at Plum tell them to give me a shout I got more ideas for them.

Normally I just write about recent movies I have seen but this time I am going to tell you all about one of my favorite shows on tv, Medium. Which of course I have on my Tivo season pass, it comes on NBC and is not just funny but also very good for stimulating our lazy minds. I could go on and on about why and how tv shows as well as movies fail, one thing is being able to capture your audience every week making them want to come back for more, Medium does that by making every episode completely different from the last and thus making you try and make the connections all over again. The show is about a regular old married woman with a husband and 3 daughters, besides her being psychic her life is normal and that’s the best part of the show, how they have created the closest real life family situation on tv, the average family doesn’t consist of the desperate housewives setup. Patricia Arquette plays the main character Allison Dubois who solves cases for the police by using her ability to talk to the dead and see the future along with having to deal with her daily duties as being a mother of 3 little girls. The realness and fantasy combined within the show is why I love this show so much its like letting your inner child play with your adult side, this is why I suggest all of you start watching it if you haven’t been already, its ok to stop reading for a little while people.
I never saw the original Zodiac but this one was good and suprisingly really long, I think they could have shortened it up a bit, it almost felt like you were just waiting for the movie to suddenly just end out of no where. And the best part of the entire film was it all being based off real life facts and events. It was a classic detective tale with twist after twist and turn after turn making you feel like you’re working the case too. What was most obvious was that commiting a crime and getting away with it was 100 times easier in the 60’s than it is these days, and this case was never really solved even in the end there were questions with no real answers and things that didn’t fit. But the film gave you a real sence of what really happend during that time period and Jake Gyllenhaal had gotten so selfless into his character that his obession he portrayed on the film with the Zodiac was so convincing you felt for himand even asked yourself what was it all for. The film will leave your head a little bogged out and tired afterward but it’ll be worth it, Zodiac is a movie worthy of sitting though for a few hours.

I have just found a new favorite show to watch, Sundance channel’s ICONOCLASTS. An original six part series for sundance and Robert Redford the man behind the groundbreaking channel. The series is about having one icon interview/talk to another icon about his/her work and life, giving the show a very unqiue outlook on the individual. The episode I watched was designer Tom Ford speaking to artist Jeff Koons about his work, to listen and watch one amazingly talented individual discuss with another legendary individual about his work was something very special and impactful, to see that almost fan like quality come from one who haves thousands of fans himself was a nice insight on who Tom Ford is as well as Jeff Koons. You learn a lot about the interviewer as much as you do about the interviewee. This is the type of show I’ve been wanting for some time now, being able to get into the minds of some of the most iconic figures in history and see how they tick, and who they are beyond just what made them an icon but as a regular person.
