The Fall of Spike Jonze

Categories: Film/TV

It’s amazing that all Spike Jonze has to do is be involved with something and it’s for sure to turn out to be something amazing and from another universe. The Fall is a movie directed by Tarsem, I’ve never heard of or seen any of his work before but this movie is definitely going to be one of the best cinematic films of the year. I don’t know exactly what role Spike Jonze played in the making of this film, he’s not even listed as a producer but whatever his role you can tell Jonze only associates with or creates the amazing, nothing less. Plus this Tarsem dude has got me Googling him and wanting to see more films directed by him. So lets see the equation goes something like this, Spike Jonze + amazing = every time.

Say Goodbye to Love

Categories: Music

Kenna, Kenna, Kenna he’s a special/different type of artist but I like his music and the work he does is just brilliant. His video for ’say goodbye to love’ is all that you could ask for in a video, keeping you peeled onto the images as if waiting for the next shot is the most important thing for the next 3-4 minutes of your life. And if you partake into smoking the greener substances in life this video would make for a very good session. Thanks to good’ol samantha for putting me onto the video.

Saved By The Bell

Categories: Etc.

Looks like throwback thursday is becoming a weekly thing, so now for your memories pleasure I present you with Zack, Kelly, Jessie, Slater, Lisa, Screech and we can’t forget about Mr. Belding, Zaaaaaccchhhh!!! Classic I tell you, classic. Saved by the bell was a ’show’ I mean you followed it/them all the way until they got out of college and that was what high school shows used to be like you know pre school shootings. But now we’ve got shit like the O.C. and One Tree Hill and you wonder why in the fuck teenagers are so off the hook these days, hmm let’s think for a second maybe. Well, I’m not one to blame everything on T.V. so I wont but it would be nice to see some less dramatic teen programming at one point, oh well, we always have re-runs. And Screech makes me feel like he could have been related to Kramer, yea that Kramer the ”nigger” lover, ha.

Make Me Laugh Why Don’t Cha…

Categories: Etc.

The day of the web video is so robust (that would isn’t used enough) and lively, just full of spirit like a cheerleader at cheerleader camp. And the great thing about internet videos is most of them are trying to bring some joy into your life the Judd Aptow way of pure laughter (does this post sound funny yet? ha). Ok, enough with the semantics  findthehumor.tv is this site I found out off the fluke one day and it did the unlikely it made me laugh. Now the site is a by weekly show meaning it doesn’t update that often with new sketches, but that’s ok you can just wait for the next episode to come like you did for The Office during the writer’s strike. Free Willy! I just felt like saying that.

Big Budgets Are Dead

Categories: Etc., Music

The day of the big budget video is slowly coming to an end, I can see the end in sight, and its near. So you big budget video directors get ready the new era in video making is approaching fast and hard. And the best thing about all this is the people making these low budget videos will take any creative risk and don’t give two shits what others think. This flip book themed video by Kraak & Smaak has got me in love again with music videos, I love out of the box concepts. I’m glad someone out there is thinking instead of just casting models and celeb cameos.

Kanye Travel

Categories: Etc.

Attention, attention, Mr. West has an announcement he would like to introduce you to Kanye Travel. Yes, that’s right the rapper/producer aka the best grammy speacher (I’m taking all credit for that word) has teamed up with Travelocity to bring you cheaper travel options. I’m not sure how successful this venture is but I got to take my hat off to Ye for always making things down new avenues. He didn’t do the regular old restaurant, or club, or liquor/drink or the major fave among celebs a clothing line, well not yet, but in terms of his I’m actually looking forward to his clothing line he’s one of the few celebs I think actually possess some fashion forward thinking. Now all he has to do is put on the first concert in the air during a flight, and it’ll be all good.

back to the future

Categories: Etc., Film/TV

Marty McFly is my other name/alias so to speak, you can call me McFly for short. Once again with this throwback thursday stuff and this time I bring you Back to the Future which we all know put Michael J. Fox on the map and began a revolution in which many of us all wish some of the back to the future props could come to real life. Case in point the Nike’s Mcfly wore in the future along with the skateboard he was riding, and the whip, oh the whip! the back to the future car is a must.

Hey You Guys!!!!!

Categories: Etc., Film/TV

We can just call today throwback thursday, featuring The Goonies. The 80’s, oh, what a splendid era that was crack and heroin flourished, LL Cool J went platinum, and The Goonies became a generation classic. Movies just aren’t made with the same storytelling and context as they used to, I mean of course we have Harry Potter but besides that many movies don’t have that staying power like a Goonies. Even when I’m old and grey The Goonies will still be one of my favorites, its just one of those timeless type things that never get old or out dated, kind of like Michael Jackson (yes, I’m still listening to him). Who wants to go on a treasure hunt with me?

G.O.A.T

Categories: Etc., Music

Michael Jackson is the greatest of all time hence the G.O.A.T title, I’ve been listening to MJ non-stop for a week since I bought his 25th anniversary Thriller album and his number one hits album. MJ is instant dance music no matter where you’re at what you’re doing or who you are if you here an MJ song you’re gonna start grooving, its something that can’t even be helped. The moment you here MJ you automatically start thinking about doing some MJ-ish dance move, roll hip then a high kick and it’s official MJ has just taken you over.

Young @ Heart

Categories: Film/TV

It’s something about old people singing in harmony I find really rejoiceful. Young @ Heart is a movie documenting the efforts of a senior citizen group who travels around performing old hits in various places. In the trailer they show them performing in a prison yard with inmates around how perfect of an image is that and I think one of the inmates even cried when they were done. This is the type of movie that’ll give you that ear to ear smile for no reason at all.
