Do Robots Dream About Bunnies?

Categories: Film/TV

Robots are the future, hopefully not the iRobot future where they try and take over, but funny little R2-D2 type of robots. And I’m not the only one who thinks about robots Piotr Karwas of Hideout Fims created this animated short about robots and robot bunnies.

Gomorrah

Categories: Film/TV

The mafia is a real problem in Italy, the Sopranos and the mafia in our country is peanuts to what’s happening over there. The film Gomorrah directed by Matteo Garrone and based on the best selling novel by Roberto Saviano is going to put the world of Camorra (Italian mafia) under a spotlight and unveil its secret truths. The film and book are so revealing and damaging that the books author Roberto Saviano has been in hiding with police protection for 2 years now because there is a mafia hit out on his life, and now that the movie has been released in Europe the mafia is even angrier stating they want Saviano dead before Christmas. After the jump is the trailer for Gomorrah and Dazed Digital has an interview with director Matteo Garrone you can read here.

Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo

Categories: Film/TV

Throwback thursday is proud to bring you a classic, a movie that has shaped me in so many ways, well maybe not many but I love it. Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo and Breakin the original one are movies I will always cherish and hold close to my heart. But I’d say Electric Boogaloo is one I’ve seen the most, and the dancing in this movie is epic, way better then any of the dance movies that come out nowadays. After the jump watch a dance battle from the first film Breakin, if we solved most of our problems with dance battles the world would be much more peaceful.

The crazy thing is this isn’t too far off from actually being a reality, I guess soon enough we’ll see if our government is rigged or not.

Justice: Across The Universe

Categories: Film/TV, Music

This Justice documentary was directed by Romain Garvas, So-Me, and Justice, so you know it’s going to be crazy. And if this trailer is what’s to be expected this film will be one amazing thing to watch, there should be a warning label that says, “caution watching may cause severe envy or urges to become a rockstar”. Sex, guns, drugs, violence what more could you ask for. The DVD and cd that drops with it doesn’t come out until Nov. 24th, so you have a little bit of a wait, but not much. I’m loving the whole Ed Banger movement.

Doug

Categories: Etc., Film/TV

Another week, another installment of throwback thursday, Doug, status this time around. Cartoons, I really miss the old days, now with technology everything is digital this digital that, I want to take it back to those hand drawn cartoons. Back when cartoons didn’t have perfectly shaped bodies, back when Doug could be a young kid with only like four strands of hair and his best friend Skeeter was blue. I followed that cartoon religiously, and who can’t remember Doug dressing up in underwear and a belt for a headband as Quailman. Just taking you down a little memory lane, maybe one day all these throwback thursday will bring a comeback to some of my old favorites, at least that’s what I’m hoping, fingers crossed.

Dougie Howser, M.D.

Categories: Film/TV

In this edition of throwback thursday I give you Dougie Howser that boy wonder who alone made me look up the word, “prodigy” and I thank him and the show for that. This throwback has come about from a brief conversation me and my sister had about the show, I can’t remember what was said, all I know, is I immediately thought to myself, “damn, dougie howser was the shit back in the day, gotta put that on throwback thursday” so here I am, putting it on. Neil Patrick Harris hasn’t done much since Howser he seemed to had faded into the child-star abyss, until a few years ago. Now since jumping back into the light a little we can thank him for such a memorable car ride with Harold & Kumar (video after the jump), and for telling everyone he’s gay and proud. So, I say to you Neil Patrick Harris, thank you for Dougie Howser, thank you for ‘fur burgers’ and the gay and lesbian community and the entire staff from “queer eye for the straight guy” thanks you.
