Can we officially say that Jay-Z has transcended his place in music from hip-hop to mainstream popular culture? This new track “History” is a heat rock. Supposedly, it’s a feature on his highly anticipated “Blueprint III,” which is scheduled to drop in January. Not only does Jigga lace the bars, but he got T-Pain to sing the chorus sans vocoder, along with Kanye West to produce the track. T-Pain without vocoder? That’s history in itself.
